Dear Connaught Families,
It has been a very distinct pleasure to work with your children, the educators and with you in the past few weeks at Connaught PS. Thank you for your Connaught warmth and kindness as we work toward the same positive goals in teaching and learning with our students.
Mr. Curt Davidson will begin duties as the Retired on Contract Principal, tomorrow, April 1, 2026.

Connaught PS
Our Intermediate Business Fair was a huge success! We raised $2689.22 that will offset the cost of the grade 7/8 trip to Camp Tawingo in June. Thank you to our grade 7 and 8 students for their hard work and to our families for supporting this initiative.
Practices and try outs have started for our spring teams: Junior Girls and Boys Volleyball and Rugby. As well, Cougar Care club, Pride of the Cougars and Lego club and have been meeting regularly. Rock band has begun. The band members are working hard to learn the song "Yellow" by Coldplay. They will be performing this rendition at the upcoming Music Mania event in May! Choir has been practising the songs “Unwritten” and “Wavin’ Flag” to showcase Connaught talent for Music Mania. It is great to see so many students taking the initiative to join these extra-curricular activities.
Our Well-Being Team is busy planning activities for Mental Health Week. During the first week of May students will be able to sign up for staff-run wellness activities of their choice. More details to come.

Connaught’s SCHOOL ACTION AND EQUITY PLAN
Be sure to ask your child about how they are working towards our Math, Literacy and Well-Being Goals in their classroom or throughout the school. One of our initiatives is our Student Surveys. Students from grade 1 through to grade 8 complete this survey 3x per year to help us understand how we are doing as a school community in terms of meeting our school goals. Questions gain insight into how students feel in terms of confidence in math, reading and writing; safety in the halls, washrooms and school yard; accessing safe adults and problem-solving challenging situations; opportunities to get involved in extra-curriculars as well as their feelings about being a Connaught Cougar. After each administration period, teachers share their class results back to the students and have discussions about what we can do as a school community to improve these feelings.
Connaught Rugby
Rugby has started at Connaught! All students must bring their cleats and gym clothing to school on Tuesday and Thursday each week. Practices are held from 3:30-4:30 on the back field. Games will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Go Cougars.
Jays Care Foundation
We are excited to share that Connaught Public School is now officially a Jays Care Foundation Affiliate School! Through this partnership, our Developmental Skills class will begin participating in Challenger Baseball starting this April. This inclusive program focuses on building confidence, teamwork, and a love of the game. Practices and games will take place during school hours, giving our students a wonderful opportunity to stay active, develop new skills, and be part of something special. We can’t wait to get started—Go Cougars! ⚾💙
