Dear Connaught families,
We have had a tremendously positive start up and are so excited to be working with you this year to support your child(ren)’s achievement and well-being.
So many fun clubs and teams have already been underway: Cougar Care Club, Art Club, Bike Club, Flag Football, Junior Basketball, Cross Country Running and Leadership Team! One of our well-being goals is to our students feel like they belong – getting involved in one of these extracurricular events is a great way for students to feel greater connection with their school community.
Mr. Lintern’s class is heading to the Trades Expo at the Essa Agriplex Fairgrounds on Thursday to learn about the skilled trades.
Thank you for your generous donations for our annual Terry Fox Fundraiser. This year Connaught’s Community raised over $2314.25 to support cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation.
We invite any guardian who is able to attend to our next School Council Meeting on Monday, October 6 at 6:00 pm in our library. Given that we were not able to have our elections completed in September, we will spend the first 15 min. of Monday’s meeting doing the elections for our School Council Executive.
WELCOME BACK NIGHT – We look forward to seeing everyone at our Welcome Back Evening on Thursday, October 2 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm. Pizza and water will be sold in the gym foyer. As well, families will also be able to purchase Collingwood Blues Tickets for $5.00 for our Blues-Cougars Event (Connaught students get advance sale discount for the Collingwood Blues Game on Friday, November 21st). We hope that we can have as many of our families as possible join us for this fun community event – another way to help meet our SAEP Well-Being Goal of helping our students feel represented in our Community.
Safety Reminders for Drop Off and Dismissal:
Please reiterate to your child(ren) to use this cross walk as well as walking their bikes/scooters once on school property. Finally, please be advised that the standing-only vehicle spaces along the paved curb beside the front of the school are for dropping off and/or picking students getting a ride that do not need assistance to and from the gate. If you are using this space, please do not get out of your vehicle. If you would like to accompany your child to the gate, please park your vehicle in a space in our parking lot. As well, please note that the bus/van loading area in front of the school is not be used during drop off and dismissal times. School vehicles including yellow busses and white vans are NOT to be passed on school property. Thank you for helping to ensure entry and dismissal are safe for all community members.

Connaught Welcome Back Night & Bookfair

Popcorn Fundraiser
We are excited to announce that Connaught Public School will be selling popcorn for $2.00 during the first break outside Mrs. Morin’s classroom on Thursday and Fridays. All monies raised from popcorn sales will go towards event decorations. Thank you for your support!
